Events for Wounded, Ill and Injured Service Members and Caregivers

The USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore supports service members and their families who are recovering and receiving treatment at NSA Bethesda, home of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. In addition, USO-Metro supports active duty service members who serve at the various hospitals.

Outdoor Heroes Program

Proudly sponsored by Juniper Networks, USO-Metro offers additional targeted services and events for wounded, ill and injured troops as part of the Outdoor Heroes program. These programs provide service members and their caregivers the opportunity to participate in outdoor excursions throughout the year with focus areas including therapeutic recreation, family interaction and involvement, and as a tool for service members to cope with their new lifestyle. Please email Ashy@usometro.org for more information about outdoor events.

Music and Art Therapy Programs

Events and Workshops with a musical or artistic focus are offered frequently at the USO Warrior and Family Centers at Fort Belvoir and Bethesda. From creative writing and ceramics to jam sessions and putting your lyrics to music with Grammy-nominated musicians, these popular programs are open to wounded, ill and injured service members and their caregivers. Please click here to view all the art and music programs and email Ashy@usometro.org for more information about music and art programs.
