Paul McQuillan Named Chairman of the Board of USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore

USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore, the largest local regional USO chapter in the nation and a 501c3 military support nonprofit organization chartered by Congress, is proud to announce Paul McQuillan as its new Chairman of the Board. McQuillan is president and CEO of PlanetRisk, a global leader in big data analytics, and has served as an Executive Board member for USO-Metro for 15 years. McQuillan has demonstrated exceptional service by playing a key role in driving USO-Metro’s exponential growth to support the increasing needs of America’s military and their families in the aftermath of the attacks on September 11, 2001, which led to more than a decade of war.

“We are extremely excited to have Paul taking this leadership role on our board,” said USO-Metro president and CEO Elaine Rogers. “He has demonstrated an extraordinary level of commitment for nearly two decades to serving our nation’s service members and their families and I’m looking forward to working with him to take our organization to even further heights.”

As an executive board member, McQuillan has worked with USO-Metro to organize programs and services and has helped oversee the expansion of several USO airport lounges and the opening of two of the largest USO centers in the world - the USO Warrior and Family Centers at Fort Belvoir and Naval Support Activity Bethesda. McQuillan has also served for the past 13 years as chairman of USO-Metro’s annual Stars and Stripes Benefit for the Troops, a casino style business-to-business networking event.

“It is a tremendous honor to have this opportunity to support the USO-Metro and the 500,000 service members living and traveling throughout the Washington-Baltimore region,” said McQuillan. “I look forward to working with Elaine and our prestigious group of board members to build upon all the amazing work that has been already done over many years by our team, volunteers and sponsors, and work hard to ensure USO-Metro continues to grow and thrive in its supporting those who give everything to protect our freedom.”

For 75 years, the USO has been strengthening America’s military service members by boosting morale and connecting them to the things they love - family, home and country. USO-Metro supports and fulfills the needs of local active duty military members and their families, who live, work and travel throughout the Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Maryland region.

USO-Metro receives no financial assistance from the federal government and relies on the generosity of the American people and business communities to fund its myriad of programs and services. Members of the Board, which represent a wide variety of private organizations including The Boeing Company, DynCorp, Northrop Grumman and Giant, play a critical role in ensuring that USO-Metro can continue its long history of lifting the spirits of America’s troops and their families in ways that address the challenges facing today’s military.

USO-Metro is made up of 10 USO locations and a Mobile USO staffed by dedicated volunteers who provide a wide variety of programs and services to members of the military community. Its programs include community and family events, such as Your USO Meal (YUM), Operation Back to School and holiday programs such as Project USO Elf and Turkeys for Troops. Through the USO Warrior and Family Centers, wounded, ill and injured service members and their caregivers are supported by therapeutic programs including art therapy and physical and wellness programs such as yoga, meditation and healthy cooking classes.
