USO-Metro's Combat2Canvas Workshop Provides Vital Service To Wounded, Ill and Injured Service Members
In partnership with Frontline Arts and Warrior Writers, local Service Members in the National Capital Region participate in a week-long workshop at the USO Warrior and Family Centers.
During the workshop, participants are guided by veteran artists through the process of transforming military uniforms into handmade paper.
Through writing and art workshops, participants narrate their individual military experiences through original works of art and writing, using these modalities to bridge the gap between the military and civilian communities.
