Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, December 7, 2018
Today we remember the lives lost seventy-seven years ago during the attacks on Pearl Harbor that killed more than 2,400 Americans and left another 1,282 wounded. In a speech to Congress the following day, President Franklin D. Roosevelt called the day of the attack “a date which will live in infamy.”
We are grateful for the volunteers and supporters who were there to help the newly-formed Hawaii USO of 1941 step up for our military and their families in their hour of need, and we salute the @HawaiiUSO of today for continuing the vital mission of the USO in your corner of the world.
We remain forever thankful to all the supporters of our USO here in the National Capital Region and worldwide for ensuring we stand ready to support our service members and their families when and how they need us most; strengthening between crises, springing to action during crises and assisting in the recovery after crises.
